Muscat, Oman — March 28, 2018 — Oman’s largest producer of Oil and Gas is rejuvenating one of its oldest production field and has awarded the package for the supply of control valves to VBG Intech Valves Manufacturing (formerly Valtek Sulamericana MENA).
The project calls for revamping of existing facilities for an onshore gas recovery scheme at Wilayat Haima, Oman.
With many producing fields Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) is responsible for more than 70% of Oman’s crude oil production and nearly all of its natural gas production. The Company is owned by the Government of Oman (which has a 60% interest), the Shell Group (which has a 34% interest), Total (which has a 4% interest) and Partex (which has a 2% interest). Gas fields and processing plants are operated by PDO exclusively on behalf of the Government. Its concession area is about 100,000 m² or one third of Oman’s geographical area. Although Oman started its search for oil already in 1930, the first economic find was made in 1960. Yibal is one of the oldest fields and was one of the biggest producers in PDO. The field started producing oil in 1969.
The award of the Control Valve package for this prestigious project once again affirms VBG Intech’s strong position in the market. A testament that providing the highest levels of customer service, with a highly engineered product yields results.
